Gaylord and Lee Ann Clark Receive the first Snail Blazer Award from Slow Food Baltimore
During the Annual Seafood Cookout and (s)low down party at Heritage Farms the Clarks were presented with the annual award from Slow Food Baltimore. This award is designed to pay tribute to an individual/s or organization within the Baltimore community whose dedication to sustainability and to transforming the food system captures the spirit of Slow Food. Leaders in the Farm to Table movement, Lee Ann and Gaylord have championed the local and sustainable food system with their business model in Heritage Farms and Jack of Hearts Seafood. Carriage House Farms is a pasture based model of agriculture which achieves an environmentally harmonious and sustainable operation raising free range laying eggs and Heritage turkeys. Jack of Hearts Seafood provides sustainable and farmed fish caught by Gaylord in the cold waters of Alaska and provides exceptional catch to restaurants, markets and individual customers directly from their farm and at farmers markets. They also offer a CSA of farm fresh eggs, chicken, and seafood. We are ever grateful for their energy and goodwill in supporting Slow Food.
